I was reading a friends blog today who is in the final stretch of her pregnancy and it made me think about how much I liked being pregnant. I loved all of it, the growing belly, the sometimes restless nights, not being able to shave my legs lol. I loved feeling our little girl kick and squirm and roll around. I was very much looking forward to labour and heading to the hospital and delivering our baby. But instead, one day I was happily enjoying my belly and my baby and planning what I was going to eat for dinner and the next minute I was being told that our little girl was in trouble and she needed to come out immediately. Still brings tears to my eyes to think about that moment. It makes me a bit sad that I wasn't able to keep her all to myself for the last 4 weeks. I didn't get my maternity pictures that I had been planning since the day I found out I was pregnant. Damn why couldn't my body just do one thing right!?
In the end Jaidyn is here and she's wonderful and she's even more than I ever dreamed. I look forward to every minute we get to spend together and she makes me so incredibly happy. I guess I'll look at it this way... I am getting to spend an extra 4 weeks with my little peanut watching her grow and smile :)

I can't believe it has been 7 mobths since I wrote anything here! Bad bad bad blogger!

Let's see... since my last entry we had an emergency c-section bringing our beatuiful little girl here a month early, we went home with her and scrambled to get her room finished and the bassinet put together, I attempted but then gave up on breat feeding after about a week lol, I went back to playing ball after 5 weeks and proceeded to fall on my face when I tried to run in for a ball, we spent a weekk at Sick Kids after the most terifying experience of my life with our precious little girl, Jaidyn got diagnosed with a heart conditiin SVT, we spent a wonderful week at the cottage in August, had Jaidyn's naming ceremony at the end of August, dressed her up as a cute little lady bug for Halloween, I turned 39 (yikes), Jaidyn turned 6 months and we are now anxiously awaiting our first Christmas!

Did I really just sum up 7 months in a paragraph?

Life is good. We are happy, we're more than happy. Jaidyn is a spunky little girl eating lots of fruits and veggies as well as cereal and her new favorite yogurt! We have had our challenges between gassiness, constipation, fussiness, medical scares but one thing is for sure, Jaidyn is the light of our lives and I don't know how I ever lived without her.

I'm going to attempt to blog more often, we'll see how I do!

We have been busy little beavers moving boxes into the new house, changing cabinet hardware, taking down blinds/curtains/shelves, patching drywall holes and finally painting! Our handyman who was supposed to paint this week for us bailed so it left us scrambling. In the end, Steve took Monday off and painted the dining room, living room and nursery. He was such a trooper and did such a great job! Hopefully going to get our bedroom and spare room done tonight and then the kitchen and office on the weekend :)

Had an ultrasound on Saturday and the placenta has kindly moved way up out of the way and baby Jaidyn is head down, resting on my pelvic bone I might add which is causing an awful lot of discomfort lol.

things are moving along nicely on all fronts :)

We are officially at the stage of viability if baby Jaidyn were to make an early arrival (knock on wood that doesn't happen). Time seems to be flying by now... and will likely continue to do so with everything we have going on :)

Had my mandatory referral (due to the spotting) appointment with an OB yesterday. Went well, he was really nice and he seems pretty confident that our low lying placenta will move up for us, fingers crossed he is right!

Did my Gestational Diabetes testing this morning, no issues there. Heard all sorts of stories about women who can't get the drink down and others who throw up after drinking it on an empty stomach. I guzzled that little drink back in about 30 seconds and was on my way, filled in my 2 hours at my midwife appointment and then a trip to Walmart :)

Nothing new discussed at my appointment with the midwife. Everything is moving along nicely, weight is up, I won't dislose how much lol, let's just say the slow weight gain I had at the beginning has more than made up for itself now!! Blood pressure is normal and babies heartbeat is perfect. The midwife and OB both think she is lying face down, bum to the right and head to the left with her feet in my pelvic area. Crazy little girl!

Midwife appointments are now bi-weekly! Will be having another ultrasound around 32 weeks to see what the placenta is doing!

                        In our 28th week! 03/28/2011

We are half way through our 28th week of pregnancy and officially into the third trimester. WHEW. If our little girl were to be born today (knock on wood that doesn't happen) she has over 90% chance of survival. May seem like a strange way to look at things but I really have counted each week as a new milestone throughout this entire pregnancy, which still seems surreal to me most days :)

Jaidyn is kicking a lot, mostly my bladder and pelvic bone. She was "footling breaach" at my last ultrasound at the beginning of March. My midwife suspects that as long as the placenta stays low this is how she'll hang out becuase there is less room down there. Fingers crossed the placenta moves up and our little girl flips over so we can have a vaginal birth and not a c-section. It is my understanding that if the placenta has not moved by 32 weeks we will be booking a c-section :(

I haven't had any spotting in about 4 weeks so I'm hoping hoping hoping that means the placenta is on the move!! Fingers crossed!

We have also officially sold our house so I am busy packing and purging. I like the purging part best but Steve is stressing out a little wondering what I am throwing out. lol. Our official moving day will be May 14th, we take possession on April 29th. I'm going to have someone come in and paint everything prior to moving and hopefully we'll be able to get in the week before and set up the nursery so that will all be done and decorated... then we just need baby :)

28.5 weeks down... 11.5 to go! WOW - seeing it like that sure feels scary!!

Well my dear husband certainly keeps me laughing that's for sure! Keep in mind... he took all but one of these pictures HIMSELF!!! HAHAHA! The one with the tissue hanging out of his nose was my capture, this is his solution to having to blow a runny nose! The lovely shot of him in the frog hat was taken in DollaramaI have some excellent videos as well of him checking to see how bark collars work... that'll be saved for another day! :)
